Look at the results at the end of the day (11/7/97) below. Is there a reason that SEG should be (i) trading at a multiple above the average historic for the DD industry in the mid-teens, and (ii) trading at multiples far in excess of WDC and QNTM. Considering the price competition and expected fall in QNTM's earnings projections (factors causing this are not fully known) will SEG and WDC follow this pattern? Why shouldn't SEG fall to a PE of ~15 resulting in a price of ~$17? Has the market over-reacted to WDC and QNTM? Is the market artifically over-valuing SEG? 11/7/97 SEG - SEAGATE TECHNOLOGY Exchange: NYSE comp Delay: at least 20 minutes Last Price: 26 1/4 at 16:05 Change: Down 1 9/16 (-5.62%) High: 27 1/4 at 9:23 Low: 26 at 14:41 Open: 27 1/4 Previous Close: 27 13/16 on 11/6 Volume: 2,853,200 30-Day Avg.
