Tell that to the Europeans...... What is your expertise in this area???

While we are using the Europeans as examples we should model the French. They get 85% of their electrical power from nuclear plants and they have no waste problem.

Who needs wind?

It will indeed add to the bottom line - when you find a way to store peak power in some reasonable way.

Tell that to the Europeans......

Hey Europeans! Wind will never replace any type of power. Wind provides about 5% of the power in the EU and maybe it will get to 10%...but eventually you run out of real estate that has constant windy conditions. And with the capricious nature of wind, there will always need to be another form of energy generation.

What is your expertise in this area???
In my job, I am responsible for the sale of my product to the Mining, Oil & Gas sector. In the past two years my role has grown to include all energy applications. Thus far that has included one wind farm and one solar plant. It also includes four cities in smartgrid/automated meter reading solutions. In other words, my expertise comes in the form of how I can make money off of it. What's your expertise?

We will never require less international oil.....our purchases are increasing as they always have and I believe we purchase about 60-65% of our needs now....we will never be independent despite the drill baby drill mentality...

What do you base this on? France gets about 85% of their electricity from Nuclear. With more electric cars, they could be a truly green economy. So could we.

With more efficient vehicles, we could cut our petroleum needs significantly.

By lifting the restrictions on oil production (drilling), the US could produce a much higher percentage. And where we may not be independent of international oil, if we only bought from Canada and Mexico, we would still be limiting the amount of money that we send to hostile countries like those in the mideast and venezuela.
