Bush didn't do anything on this issue for 8 years because it would upset Corporate America. This is their source of cheap labor.

Obama, as we all know by now, take some additional time before making a decision we have seen him do so on Afghanistan, now with the BP spill etc. etc. This issue has built up over they ears and cannot be solved or a course to tackle the problem be charted out in less than 2 years he has been is office.

I do no like the flood of illegals, but the situation is better than it was 3 years ago because of the soft labor market. Still it needs constraints ; companies and households need to be fined much more for hiring illegals and illegal individuals have to be returned to their home countries ASAP.

Yet There is an interesting issue sitting out there in 25 or 35 years. it is that most developed countries , even China but especially, Japan Western Europe and places like Korea are going to be constrained economically because of their aging population profiles, while we can grow more easily because of immigration.

Of course it will change our cultural profile as well, so we shall see.
