<Whoever Chuck Parker is, he made sense when he said: WSJ: "When an officer of the general's rank and position speaks out like this in a war, it's because things have gotten so bad for the troops, that something needed to be said. It's clear, that General McChrystal is a brave man, who puts his troops first, ahead of his career. ”>

No problem with that, what I do not understand is why did he let his staff go down with him?

Concur.

Here again, the real problem is not so obvious.

The issue is not that Mc put his troops first and is willing to put his own career on the line for them.

The real problem for America is that so many of our senior generals and admirals are not so willing. And precious few of our civilian leadership are willing to put the troops first. Most of our senior civilian leadership does not even know how to begin to do that. Mc gave their failures some sudden and unexpected light. Like cockroaches who suddenly find themselves in a bright light but surrounded by darkness, they are fleeing in every direction looking for cover.

God Bless our troops. It is they who demonstrate everyday their willingness to go forth and suffer mightily to protect and the defend the Constitution of the United States and Our Bill of Rights. And the troops are doing that even as many of our elected officials are trying to shred the same documents.

We have several incidents of generals ordering courts-martial of soldiers for doing what they must in battle. Courts that ended with acquittals. But the stigma never goes away so long as those falsely accused continue to serve. We will never know how many other soldier's careers were ended inappropriately by letter or Article 15 use, by over zealous commanders protecting themselves.

Our military needs a thorough house cleaning. This time it needs to begin at the top echelon of our civilian military leadership.
