Check out the below note from today's (Friday's) InformationWeek e-mail update. Even though this market expansion at the low end was perceived as a _bad thing_ for computer stocks, does this not also imply more chips being sold? And more chips that need to be tested? And more testers that need to be purchased to handle the testing? >2) Tech Stocks: Computer makers slipped after IBM said it would offer three home PCs priced at less than $1,000 and Compaq said it would cut prices on its Presario computers by 15% to 25%; Dell lost 2 5/8 to 81, Compaq slipped 1 1/2 to 65 7/16, Hewlett-Packard fell 1 5/16 to 63 5/8 and IBM lost 1 to 101 1/2; The Dow slumped 9.33 to 7683.24 and the Nasdaq was off 13.70 to 1623.63.
