If he owns stock that would call into question his ruling, then he should not have taken the case.

I just found out..........apparently, he sold the stock in the last year.

I agree with his ruling though. It is foolishness to cut all drilling for 6 months because of this BP negligence. Perhaps cut the deep stuff or be strict on compliance to ensure necessary precautions/continingency plans are in place but to ban all drilling for 6 months is not needed or best for the country.

The moratorium wasn't for all drilling........just deepwater.....only 33 rigs were involved out of 3000.

Obama's decision to appoint Gen. Petraeus is a very good decision I think. Whether it is a brilliant one, time alone would tell. If the General demonstrate that he is achieving the goals set for him by Obama, the American people will have no problem in extension. So to say that it is a fixed timetable is political. By setting a timetable, any US President is sending a string signal to the Generals that they to have certain targets to meet within a certain timeline. After all, we have timelines in what we do in our lives whether it be graduating from school, or putting money in CDs etc. So why not we set timelines for how long the US taxpayers' money should be spent.
