David, When do you see that retest of the 18 level occurring.. (I happen to concur and am looking to get options positions set). Do you see a reduction in capital spending as a negative? I'm looking for a capital shortage in SE Asia, for example..... Several months back Shane, I & others were looking at a stituation in which the next phases of demand might not be met by sufficient fab capacity and design personnel. Effect: margin improvements. Result: much better earnings. The effect is visibile in individual companies, like VTSS (which has production sold out five months ahead). With less capital availability in SE Asia, that potential competition is weakened, increasing the "bottleneck" effect of fabs/personnel, and improving margins still further. A year out, I'm looking for earnings surprises
on the upside for ASIC producers like LSI (after some severe pessimism in the interim??.. :-) ) Just MHO David... dlo
