I know this thread and others lend themselves to cynicism and a certain form of gallows humour -- but you know, I'm a little encouraged for our country here. I walked into a bookstore yesterday -- they didn't have the book I wanted, but guess what was prominently displayed where I ordered my book: The Road to Serfdom by Hayek. Austrian economics, the tyranny of useless dimwits that run our government, knowledge about what money is and isn't, what freedom is, what a real threat is -- yada, yada -- it is getting into the mainstream now -- gen X & Y aren't a bunch of dummies -- there are some -- but I run into an incredible number of young people where I teach that are smart -- that know what is going on. If just a small percentage of these get the guts to act ethically -- our country may be turned around -- for this cycle??
