Chipping away at a huge problem instead of getting the tools to fix it is very stupid, IMHO. It's all we have done for 25 years with no good result. And forget about politicians ever cracking down on employers. That is their donor base for both parties, they aren't stupid either. The game as currently played is monotonous and futile. But people just want to keep playing it with more vim and vigor in the future. And the point is....?????????

Katelew; Stop hiring them and they return willingly and/or don't come in the first place. Actually, this is happening now because of the economy, though not in great numbers. Well maybe with a double dip recession more will move back? Gosh things are awful in Mexico though.

For the most part, these people are not going to vote for Obama. Someone else will come along with what sounds like a small government, lower taxes, and lower debt agenda and win the next election. There is no chance they will be able to effectively reduce the size of government and/or lower budget deficits. But they will start rounding up and harassing legal and illegal immigrants. That you can bet on.
