Hoover was an ass. But that was 80 years ago....

I'm not seeing a lot of starving children in the US right now, even during the darkest days of the Bush administration<G>. Homeless perhaps but not starving. Quite the opposite with childhood obesity rates soaring.

The U. S. is (at least according to the Constitution) a democratic REPUBLIC, not a democracy. Important distinction.
