i was talking about LOBBYING, not free speech

there is no reason a corporation or union (although i could make an argument against government employee unions, since they are taking OUR money to contribute to candidates who are going to make direct decisions on how THEY get paid) should not be able to contribute to a candidate...as long as there is full disclosure i have no problem with it

lobbying by corporations and unions represents bribery (at least in its present form)....the lobbying is done behind closed doors and who knows what sort of quid pro quos are going on...

this gives the lobbyists undue influence and i would say that at this point in time, it probably exceeds that of the electorate
