Z, maybe you missed the recent news. Private job creation fell back into the negative. This was yesterday.

Lots of talk about a double-dip recession. "Stimulus" isn't working as intended.

a) Our consumption-driven economy has to change.

b) How about we just grow government until everyone has a job?

c) Waging war against those who save is stupid.

Bottom line is that there's nothing wrong with cushioning the blow. A soft landing is necessary for society to remain stable. Just don't expect recovery until we finally hit bottom. That could take years.
