Learn from the enemy. Sure, Reagan was a product, a mouthpiece. A damn good one. So good, he's held up and worshipped by the wingnuts of today as the gold standard of wingnuttery. There's no reason a photogenic, well spoken liberal couldn't be sold just as easily. George Clooney comes to mind. Then, have less appealing genius technicians behind the scenes crafting policy and driving the country, while George wins friends and ratings.
