Meathead,

Ditto.

If you look at a 20 week comparison chart you will see DELL and CPQ moving as though joined at the hip.

Also, if you look at INTC you will see their stock turning over from its top about the time CPQs BTO model was announced. The BTO model forced CPQ, etc to reduce its current inventory and switch to this JIT model. This caused INTC apparently to loose a 1 B in revenues while this transition was taking place. This now appears to be over with as announced at the INTC conference in Monterrey today. There was a air bubble in that INTC inventory pipe.

INTC may now be in position to resume its profit growth in the next quarter! This will pull DELL and CPQ along with them IMO.

something to think about.....

To answer your question, No, shorting stock hasn't made me a millionaire.

I didn't mean to say DELL will go down (or up). What I wanted to point out is that some people are putting a positive spin on every news:

e.g. if WDC is doing good, then demand is strong, DELL must be doing good, if WDC is doing bad, then there are cheaper components for DELL to buy.

another example, if Gateway 200 is doing good, ok, all the box makers should be doing good, if gateway is doing badly, ok, then DELL must be gaining market shares.

No matter long or short, we should treat good news as good news, bad news as bad news...

Meathead,

Hi!!! <<<<<Don't fall in love with your stock.....>>>>> Never have and never will.....the only exception is Dell....So never is never never... unless you realize there are always going to be exceptions...to date, Dell has proven to be that exception.
