Wow, you contradict yourself immediately. Rush didn't say McNabb was celebrated because he was black. He said journalists overrated him because he was black. Explain the difference. And, yes, it is a racist statement if he is saying all journalists are racists. Except for Rush, who doesn't pretend to be a journalist, as journalism is just one of the many subjects he flunked out of at Southwest Missouri State.

The question remains, why don't we see more blacks in high paying jobs if it is "so easy" for them? Of course we need affirmative action. Otherwise, bigots will not hire them or admit them to prestigious schools. That is a historical fact. Shoot, Rand Paul still wants to allow proprietors to keep blacks out of restaurants. Racism has declined. But not enough.

I don't think Rush really believes this stuff. He's a bright guy despite his drug abuse and lack of education. He says it for ratings and it works. We could ignore him (Like Michael Savage), but he's too popular and the unofficial head of the Republicrook Party now and we have to out them and what they really believe in. Then, once we see the ugly face behind their phoniness, let the people decide if we want to regress.

>>That is not correct, Rush did not say that. He said that McNabb was over rated, not that he was celebrated because he was black. Furthermore he said that this was because journalists did so because journalists desired black quarterbacks to do well. He also stated that there is noting wrong with that, just a fact. So I don't see anything racist here.<<

as someone who followed the eagles very closely during mcnabb's career, i can tell you that rush knows next to nothing about the eagles. or football.

basically, rush ran down mcnabb as being over rated and then hyped andy reid.

give me a break! andy reid is completely over rated and he sabotaged mcnabb's career.

you wouldn't even know joe montana's name if he had to throw to todd pinkston, freddie mitchell and i can't recall the other guys name - and he was the best of the three.

montana would be on IR after game 2 and probably wouldn't have survived seasons - and i love joe montana and think he was the best ever.

when mitchell and pinkston were let go, NO TEAM IN THE NFL PICKED THEM AND STARTED THEM. i'm not sure any team even signed them!

mcnabb didn't have a chance throwing to larry, mo and curly - LITERALLY! he did an *amazing* job with what he had.

the true star of the team was the defense and the best coach on the team was the defensive coordinator.

the defense was the #1 attribute of the eagles with mcnabb being #2. more recently, westbrook was the star of the show oon offense and mcnabb moved to third.

i'm no big fan of mcnabb, either, because i saw him throw so many low balls that my toes still hurt. but i don't blame mcnabb, he was throwing to crash car dummies.

if the eagles' wide receiver corp want THE WORST in the entire nfl, it was a photo finish.

during one season, the wide receivers scored 2 or 3 TDS ALL YEAR LONG!

ALL SEASON LONG - 2 OR 3 TDs!

I BLAME ANDY REID! in 2000 it was OBVIOUS they needed receivers and they didn't get any. unless mcnabb is staffing the team, it isn't on him.

who replaced pinkston, mitchell and the other guy? i'll bet none of them impress you - let alone as a group.

do you even know? does anyone know except their mothers?

it is clear to me mcnabb never reached his potential due to throwing to a bunch of clowns at WR for almost his entire career. when he finally got a great receiver, he was certifiably insane - AND THE OTHER RECEIVER MIGHT NOT HAVE STARTED ON A NUMBER OF COLLEGE TEAMS. so mcnabb had one mentally insane WR for one year out of his entire career, otherwise, he had below average receivers, if not down right awful receivers (worst in the league awful).

andy reid is responsible for that p*ss poor receiving corp, yet rush said he was a great coach and it was mcnabb's issue.

puh-lease

>>That was not in reference to CEO jobs, though there are black CEO's. This was about affirmative action and other programs and attitudes which make it easier for blacks to get hired at low and midlevel jobs. There is really no debate that this makes it easier for blacks to get jobs, that is what it was designed to do. Now he does appose affirmative action. As for myself, it does at least need to be phased out in the near future.<<

african americans, as a group, have been shafted by america IN GENERAL.

the idea they, as group, get some kind of free ride nowadays isn't accurate. yes, some benefit and do great, but as a whole, they still get shafted - look at family wealth, family income, unemployment, etc.

there are many and varied reasons for this, but let's not pretend there has been and is a fair playing field.
