Ted, even I don't think someone should be on unemployment for 99 weeks! On the other hand, I don't think they should be cut off with nothing. Because I think the jobs not only aren't coming back, but unemployment will continue to increase, we need a way to help these people OTHER than unemployment. I think Obama should revive FDR's WPA. Give the unemployed a choice at the end of 6 months of unemployment, join the WPA or you're on your own. en.wikipedia.org There's certainly no lack of infrastructure jobs that they could be put to work at. They'd have to relocate, get three hots and a cot in a WPA camp, and earn minimum wage, which could all be sent back to their families.
