Sorry that incident happened. I hit a cat once and it really hurt to realize I'd killed another living thing. Like your wife, there was nothing I could do. The cat just jumped out in front of me and there was no avoiding it. Let us know what they discover from the MRI. I hope they figure it out and prescribe a cure.

I'm really sorry about the cat. Lynne and I were talking the other day about how many cat owners seem to allow them free range. Technically, leash laws should apply to cats as well as dogs. My neighbor's cats are always coming over and crapping in my yard. I've been tempted to get a Hav-a-Heart trap and trapping them then leave them on the corner with a sign saying "is this your cat? Please restrain it." If the owner of the cat your wife hit had kept it on his or her own property, this wouldn't have happened.
