That's not how I defend it (though I did mention it a post ago to Jim because of the fact that you were essentially saying that politicians can write the rules for themselves in a way businesspeople can not, which aside from the most literal definition not possible, is blatantly not true.

Government pensions are good because:

1. Pensions are good in general

and

2. I totally support creating security for people who have spent their lives performing public service.
