I'm not sure that I am with the coast guard on this one, there defending themselves against attacks so they have a vested interest in such a conclusion, but assuming they are correct, being generally better under the conditions in the Gulf does not imply they are better for all of the cleanup. Besides that my statement was not just about larger ships, but "Larger and/or specifically designed ships" (and you can add "specifically designed boats" to the extent they might be relevant) vs. shrimpers and fishing boats.
