I agree that Obama probably wasn't invited for the reasons you state. A wedding is supposed to be about the couple. And it is the bride's day to be a princess. All eyes should be on the couple, not one of the guests.

However, Obama's response of "I wasn't invited" suggests that he was offended that he wasn't invited. Otherwise he would have pointed out that no bride wants to be upstaged at her own wedding.

There is no doubt in my mind that Hillary had a meeting with Obama and told him about the wedding and why he wasn't going to be invited. The Clintons are far too politically savvy to blatantly snub the president. If Obama was offended, it would be further testimony to his narcissism.
