"BTW - Simmons nailed the conventional NG declines but didn't see the impact of the shale gas."

I think history is replete with failures of prognosticators to foresee the impact of technology. People see the limits of what is - but fail to see the possibilities of what can be. Hence, wild dooms day scenarios are used to justify politically driven economic decisions that IMO are simply best left to the market place.

If we do not want to use gasoline - I say we should simply implement a tax on it that is instituted in stages over say a five year period of time. Then let the market place of science and innovation solve the problem. Mandates of this and mandates of that are simply very likely to be wrong and hugely wasteful.

Commander

Am on the phone with Schwab right now. We are looking at the CBOE website for weeklies:

cboe.com

Listing for a particular underlying security can appear and disappear - usually on anticipated news/earnings. General interest is building in the weeklies. When pre-market option trading was introduced there was a big hype, but there was never a single trade. So weeklies might not last, but that seems unlikely. Schwab is moving to offer them but it won't be until November at the earliest.

I might implement my strategy in late October using the regular Nov contracts, e.g. buy puts and calls on Nov CHKs.

We did find weeklies on these issues:

XON, POT, RIG, USO,

He has also long dissed Canadian Tar Sands.
I think he's dead wrong there too. I think
he dismisses out-of-hand anything that doesn't support
his thesis.
