how about simply requiring that driver's licenses require a birth certificate. Keep the responsibility in the state and not federal.

I was shocked when I saw people say that they wanted a national ID card.

We already have one. It's your SS card. I was against one but lately I am changing my mind.

I just shook my head. No wonder the administration isn't doing anything about the border. People are now willing to give up more of THEIR freedom because the government isn't doing their job. Little by little, we surrender more and more.

I want to see the borders enforced, but no way do I want to see a national (federal) ID card. I do not trust our federal government.

That Lutz program was scary. It was scary because it was unnecessary. People should not feel compelled to yield up little bits of freedom because they are afraid. They should be encouraged to defend themselves, and the government should do everything it is supposed to do under the constitution--no more and no less.

It's all right here. I don't know what is so difficult about it.

We the People of the United States, in Order to form a more perfect Union, establish Justice, insure domestic Tranquility, provide for the common defence,[1] promote the general Welfare, and secure the Blessings of Liberty to ourselves and our Posterity, do ordain and establish this Constitution for the United States of America.

I saw that Lutz/FOX News program midway through....Had the same reaction you and others did here....I was amazed as well that nearly everyone there is ready to have a National ID card!

Maybe Obama and crew consider this a 2-Fer....Both hopefully millions of new voters, plus he wants a National ID card..... By having the government NOT do its job, may be the way that he GETS his way....

Sigh......... The only thing we can hope really is that so many people in the country are truly angry about the direction this country is headed, that we will have ALL new people in both the House and Senate, and in 2012, the WH as well.

I don't blame the Arizonians for being angry....I am angry for them, and I don't live there. I hope ZERO has a HUGE reaction against his non-action....
