Thank you, Jack, I know that as the time wears on and it all gets crazier and crazier it will be easier and easier to offend sweet brethren, but frankly, I'd rather see some of us, me included, get real offended then find ourselves left behind. I was a little afraid someone would be offended by this, but I just said it anyway. Remember that Jesus only said about the horror to come: To pray EARNESTLY that we would find ourselves WORTHY to ESCAPE those things which shall come to pass. (I repeat, SHALL come to pass). Don't have the Strongs right here, but that escape is not the run and hide escape. That's used other place. This escape is more to be lifted out of, I believe. Look it up, it's wonderful. What amazes me the most is He did not put out a big, big warning about being caught in adultery and debauchery of all kind, but more "surfeiting" (which just means being caught up in the worries and cares of life, if memory serves me) and drunkeness. Drunkeness was really weird. I don't know, are a lot of the brethren drinking? I don't think so, but it seems the Lord seemed to think they might be. I know that warning wasn't to devil worshippers, for sure, but to those looking to the Redeemer. So for these things and many others, I feel that there are things to be avoided. Because the consequences won't be what we want, probably. Don;t know any other way to put it without sounding pedantic. Steve, I know in your church probably the name of Jesus is lifted continuously. And you know that is NOT what I refer to. I sure hope your church could not produce a Jim and Tammy, either. (but...if it could.......hummmmmm, my advice would be that each of us should leave such a place to be "accounted" worthy to escape the dreadful things, and stand instead before the Son of Man.) Personally I have to line that directly up with standing before Jesus in Rev. 7:9. And Ron, there is another reference for you to seriously consider what it means. Rev. 7: apparently those caught up to Heaven and John himself who was there in spirit witnessing everything with his spirit man's eyes, worshipped saying "Salvation to our God which sitteth upon the throne, and (also, another, implied) and unto the Lamb. John sure did not say and "unto the Lamb who sat upon the Throne". I take John's eyewitness account of my Lord's human body and personality and John's eyewitness account of my Lord's place in Heaven over any idea any man has ever come up with. I feel real safe with John. His words have never confused me for a second. Please read that and see what you see. Jack, also I believe very devout people who love Jesus can be led astray by Jim Jones and his like, and we know it to be true, and that doesn't mean the poor betrayed souls don't get to Heaven. But somehow I don't think there was a whole lot of the balance of the Holy Spirit going on in Gyuana, PTL, and lots of places right now that leave me stunned in amazement. And what kind of a fool can take the preaching of madmen over the Word of God? I think only those who don't really know it, or? What? I am without a clue as to what humans do because they simply blow my mind too often trying to comprehend their thoughts and actions. And it probably goes both ways, I'm sure.
