Ah yes, same as the Russians had after they came out of Afghanistan after 10 years..."battle hardened military with lots of combat experience", broken and a country with lots of wasted military debt. And they did not have the Bush family revenge Iraq debt piled on along with a funding program for so called "free enterprise" contractors dependent on government handouts plus 700 or so bases scattered across the world funded by borrowed monies from China when wasted taxpayer funds were not enough.

Fortunately Obama kept Gates on who is at least trying with Obama to clean up the Cheney/Bush/Rumsfeld military mess and $3 Trillion financial disaster when we now need those wasted funds so badly for our own well being.

Where are we going to INVADE next, Eric? Considering that we're threatened by NO ONE.

"Why is he trying the Iraq plan in Afghanistan - doesn't he know it's not the same problem?"

It is a far more serious problem. While Bush was pissing away resources in Iraq, our lack of accounting and controls in Afghanistan resulted in us funding the Taliban and letting them rebuild. They got to the point where they may be able to destabilize Pakistan.

Who has a collection of pretty sophisticated nukes.

It is a real problem. One that might not have a solution now.
