She is back at my sister's house who is a naturally healthy eater. L doesn't eat much and she'd rather have watermelon for dessert than cookies. niece is someone naturally to carry some weight, big-boned and all that, but with family history of diabetis, she needs to be careful. at college, it is just so easy, easier, to grab pizza and such on the run. You were in India and China, yes? if you ate out, were meals smaller and natural? It amazes reading things re eatery meals here... the amount of sodium and fat in things. And the sodium is a large issue in terms of people who don't have access to grocery stores. canned food is sooo full of it. and of corn syrup. so you grab something bad for you at McD's or something bad for you at the corner store. another positive on Good Morning Alabama was they had a woman on who is doing a Walk for Diabetes. That's not becoming a problem simply because we are a lot of lazy people who eat junk all day. sometimes there is only junk available. start feeling bad from a lousy diet, not real inclined to go out for a good walk when it finally cools off in the evening. it all feeds on each other. and it's not that people aren't interested in eating better... not just cause it's better for us, but cause fresh fruit and veggies are good. there was a woman interviewed who took 2 buses and then walked a few blocks to get fresh things for herself and her kids. in a land that grows about the best peaches in the world, that is rediculous any among us should have to go through that to get them. I carry on now, but this matters in so many ways. I really am very happy Michelle O has taken this as a focus.
