I just wonder why it seems to be so damn important to route this guy to jail at any cost at this - or any - stage of his life.

He has already been through the whole procedure once and the Israelis had to release him after they reluctantly found him not guilty, which means not being identical with said Ivan the Terrible.

Acquitted by Israel against all odds, and believe me, they REALLY wanted him to be their Ivan, so they could repeat their successful Eichman hanging... Shouldn't that be enough of evidence, that his is not the man?

Well, some powerful groups absolutely want this old guy to be 'their' bad Ivan, so where their safe card Israel let them down and failed to get the job done, they routed him to Germany and included a hitherto unknown and miraculously newly found Nazi German ID card, which popped up just in time and which according to the German experts 'beyond any doubt is legit' and proves Demjanuk to be identical with Ivan Grosz...

That's all, besides 'this ID (manufactured by whom?), which under no circumstances could be fake' they have absolutely nothing new to offer, no additional evidence, which wasn't presented in Israel already, when same man was eventually acquitted.
