are you perhaps suggesting that either boston should be vacated or miami should be severed? I don't need to use Genetic tests to figure out who's American.. Because being American is a state of mind, not of blood or DNA. It's a belief in the values, as represented in the US Constitution and Declaration of Independence. A person of Chinese ethnicity can be just as American as one who comes from Europe, Africa, or any other geographical location. But they are American because they CHOOSE to be American. Nothing keeps them here except their own will (or lack of another place to live). In fact, we have more problems keeping people out of the US, including thousands of Chinese that are smuggled in squalid conditions, often to become indentured servants to their masters (which is why we treat that as illegal as well). So.. can I be Chinese? Or would I forever remain a "Gweilo". Eventually everyone will be American, if only as a "state of mind" regarding individual freedom and accountable government. It's a trend you cannot reverse without serious bloodshed. And even then such a reversal, IMO, would only be temporary. Hawk
