If AMD goes down into the low $5's Dirk should be fired as CEO period. Somebody will buyout the company if they truly have 32nm within the next six months and superior Integrated/Discrete video cards. Now that AMD can produce using other manufacturers there should be even less excuse not to at least break even regardless of the poor economy.

"I know they are chasing ARM which I say AMD should as well!"

A better bet for AMD is to work with GF and/or TSMC to makes a suitable APU core for ARM based on their technology from ATI and license that as an already synthesized block. Sure, it might compete with Ontario and derivatives for things like the maybe design win at Apple, but at least they'd get a piece of it.

If they were to do an ARM core, they probably should stake out an area that no one is at. For example, a high performance version on SOI. A webserver on a chip that attaches directly to NAND flash and DDRx memory for a 2 or 3 chip solution, and includes a serial high speed interconnect that can appear to the OS like an ethernet port.

Nah. That would make too much sense.
