AFAIK, there is a very significant % correlation for many companies' stock prices and the major market indicies. AMD tends to have an exaggerated response in this regard. So if the DOW drops into the 8K's AMD might well drop into the 5's range. Just my WAG.

Its also the case that PC spending can show exaggerated response to economic conditions as well, and thats another factor. There have already been some gyrations over the Euro excitement, and we might well revisit some of those problems before year end as well.

Somebody will buyout the company if they truly have 32nm within the next six months and superior Integrated/Discrete video cards.

I don't think it's quite that simple. There are still restrictions on what patents can be picked up by an acquiring company.
