Prime Minister Margaret Thatcher came to Mc Lean Virginia to sign her book at Crown Book Store. People lined up for several blocks to get her sutograph in their books.

NO TRAFFIC JAMS-----

No interruption with free enterprize system as regular customers could still come in and buy books----Mrs. Thatcher was fantastically poised as she autographed and commented to each person.

Yes that was in the 1990's before all of the terrorism stuff---and with no interruption to the local travelers on the streets.

Security was present but not obtrusive.

Nixon used to fly into Mayport Naval Station now and then to visit young Mr. Eisenhower and I assume his daughter......cross traffic would be held up at minimum and they would whiz wherever they were going in a very efficient manner.....his crew seemed to know what they were doing.

You never got the impression that he was "that far" above the crowd....none of that getting a hair cut while the world waits syndrome.....at least that's the way I remember it.
