Re: [(Remember: Reagan's numbers continued to FALL for several more months *too* in the ABC/WAPO polls!)] "Not rate away, and least not more than a tiny amount."

Sure they did ('right away'...) look at the chart again and notice that *not only* did the downward trend continue but there was also a bit of a jog downward in the next couple 'o months (near the end of Reagan's second year in the office.).

(The SERIOUS RECESSIONARY BACKDROPS for those same periods in both Reagan's and Obama's first terms are striking, and IMO, what produces this doppelganger polling effect):

Re: "At this point of his presidency he was decisively above Obama."

(No, he wasn't. You must be looking at a different period, some other year.)

Re: "More importantly after the 2nd year Reagan's ratings decisively broke to the upside."

Sure. But Obama has NOT YET even completed his second year in the office so it is impossible to show a chart for his third year YET.

(Would have posted Obama's 'third year polls' if I had 'em, Tim! But I guess I don't have access to your time machine yet. Maybe you can lend it to me? I'd sure like to place some lottery ticket buys! <GGG>)
