As much as I like ASND...I can't agree...reality is that ASND tends to close some major deals by competing on price, where CSCO tends not to discount...
(referance ASND's recent comment's that although list prices will be going down in remote access net prices will not...)
I've never known a business plan that allows for a business to win long term by competing on price (except moore's law)...unless you are able to increase market share considerably (I don't see this in ASND's case as others are just now becoming aggressive in this space...)

<<lee, let's figure this out. asnd is lowering prices and this hurts asnd. since asnd is lowering prices this allows cisco to do even better. hello?>>

Hello? How does ASND lowering prices help CSCO? Did SEG lowering prices help WDC ?

CSCO has a program designed to put ASND out of business called the "Golden Dagger" awards program. It was mentioned quite a few times on this thread around the time ASND won the NTT contract. CSCO has stated that when they are competing against ASND that they will lower prices on a case by case basis by whatever amount is necessary to get the contract.
Any contract that ASND wins means that the customer DID NOT WANT THE CSCO EQUIPMENT AT ANY PRICE !

I just wish that one day that some big telco equip. provider with deep pockets would snap up ASND and say to CSCO "OK big boy, want to cut some prices, we're going to cut prices across the board against your entire product line, because we're moving into your space and we've got the resources required to be number 1."

Regards,

Lee
