Thanks for the John Chambers interview. Vis-a-vis the CPQ-ASND acquisition theory, the operative paragraph seems to be this:

Compaq thinks it may be able to provide end-to-end as well. It's got some networking equipment now. So how will it do? When I see 50% margins, I think that I'm dying. Compaq sees 50% margins and thinks it's died and gone to heaven. So it will come into this business.
