"TopCat, the only thing Dr. Laura did wrong was to talk over the caller."

It's not like the caller didn't talk over Dr. Laura.

There was absolutely nothing about what Dr. Laura said that would indicate she was a racist. On the contrary, she was trying to point out what a typical source of racism sounds like or looks like. She was trying to be instructive.

Other than that, I think if people read the transcript for themselves and listened to the audio, they will agree that Dr. Laura is not a racist. An overbearing talk show host, definitely, but not a bigot.

Totally agree. And her success is partially due to her mannerism in dealing with callers. You can't be a wimp with callers and do the job she does.

If you listen to MSNBC or CNN or NYT tell it, the woman engaged in a hate-filled racist rant. This is why these organizations have zero credibility anymore -- they are totally biased and you simply cannot believe anything you see or hear from them until it has been confirmed with a more objective organization.

most people don't want to bother listening for themselves. They'd rather hear the sound-bite version from sources like CNN.

How many teachable moments do we need?

We have an imam being painted radical by one comment, a woman speaking at the naacp and she's fired and it goes on an on yet the media never learns the lesson they claim to have just taught us all.
