The only universal thing in that seems to be, that it isn't universal :-)

No, in contrary. Real science is about reproducability. Remember Fleischman and Pons? They were accused of being unscientific because others could not reproduce their claim - it basically ruined their reputation as scientists. Later, it was discovered that they were correct on the issue, but not exactly on the claim - they just needed to add more to the claim, and it became reproducible.

Is science able to fully explain why the apple falls down? No. That wouldn't be science, that would be religion :-) Science will never be able to prove that the Bible is wrong about how the world was created - it can only make a claim that it has a theory that provides more reproducable results.
