'What is this Barron's article about?'

Refer to Intel - post no. 39594 from Paul Fiondella.

GRIM REAPER STATES....if i were to chose who to believe wrt INTEL going forward (INTEL execs or any one of the bears on this thread) it would be INTEL...they have said what they have to say and those who have bought at these low prices will be rewarded as those who have bgt on any of INTELS previous dips....Many have shorted going into the press conference thinking that there was going to be bad news...NOT SO and soon we will see more momentum build as the FUNDS start to accumulate this stock...we all know what damage can be done to the shorts when some of these funds decide to agressively accumulate this stock knowing that the shorts cannot cover it en masse....

The shorts have had a lot of fun and made money (on paper ) but what will they do when it starts to gap upwards as it has done in the past...Last Friday was indicative of what can happen as many re enter or try to cover....most tech got hammerred but INTEL bucked the trend...it is classic bottoming out....remember CSCO when everybody hit it hard against the ground ...now look at it...he who covers first makes the most ....

And by the way ...SI is better than Barrons....

Monaco and all,

There is nothing new about Intel and other tech. stocks in this week's Barron's. I don't know when this interview took place, it does look a few weeks old.

The three money managers were talking about how inventory correction would hurt Intel; how sub-$1000 market will hurt Intel; how AMD and Cyrex will hurt Intel, how Asia problem will drag sales...

Intel's Friday conference call answered all these questions handsomely.

About Sub-$1000 computers: Today, I went to CompuUSA and Best Buy stores to find out what Sub-$1000 systems look and who is the buyer. In CompuUSA, among 30+ different models in display, there is only one computer without monitor marked below $1000 ($899). In Best Buy, among about 20+ displays, only two models sell below $1000, again both without monitors.

For about 20 minutes or so in both stores, I didn't see any customer even ask about those sub-$1000 models. taking to salesman, I was told those very cheap models are not selling well, some people bought it for their kids...

I suggest all of Intel and AMD investors, spend 20 minutes in computer store(s), investigate the market yourself and make sure write what you see to this thread. I am sure the result will be very interesting.

Good investing,

Xy
