Poland lasted 5 weeks, The Neatherlands 2 hours(they must really be stupid)I think Denmark or sweden(one of those coutries) also lasted only 2 hours.

German losses included approximately 16,000 Killed in Action, 28,000 wounded, over 200 aircraft, and 30% of their armored vehicles. The Polish casualties were around 66,000 dead and 694,000 captured. Though the German attack was successful, losses were greater than expected. It has been estimated that, during the September campaign in Poland, the Wehrmacht needed to use more than twice the ammunition they used in France the following spring.

Interesting link but Poles were stigmatized with the dumb label and other bias much earlier than that in this country. The great immigration movement about 1900 brought thousands of Poles to work in the coal mines. In my home town, the first Polish (also Catholic) teacher wasn't hired until about 1948...

The Maginot Line was also a brilliant idea....really took a genius to decide to simply go around it....

"It began in WWII when the Poles were defeated so easily by German and Russian army forces"

Like with so many things, you got this wrong.

It started well before WWII. Slavs have a long history of being looked down on by the rest of Europe.

"One account claims a Polish Calvary division attacked a German Tank battalion and was decimated."

While it almost certainly didn't happen, it appears to be Nazi propaganda, it wouldn't have been surprising. As Rumsfeld so eloquently put it, you go to war with the forces you have. Their calvary had served Poland well in the past. And they even performed admirably while Poland lasted during WWII, albeit against infantry while mounted. They did transition to armor later.

Which is not to say that they never charged tanks. Google, for example, the Battle of Mokra...
