Argument from authority is the mirror of ad-hominem.

LOL...are you guys kidding me? Man, the pretentiousness, the presumption that you know better simply because you know better...you guys delude yourselves. You embrace any report that shows that the stimulus has been ineffective and reject anything that says otherwise and then build these silly holier than thou exchanges...give us a break. Until you show us some credible reason why we should invalidate the findings of the CBO you are little more than fox and sour grapes.

Al

"Argument from authority is the mirror of ad-hominem.."

Like they say, a little knowledge can be dangerous.

Uh, no. The "appeal to authority" is not universally fallacious. Especially when said authority is actually an authority in their given field. Granted, it isn't an absolute, but it isn't a fallacy to take the word of an expert in the subject over some random blogger with access to the Internet.

So, given the choice between the CBO, who have actual economists on staff, and Tenchu or you, it isn't fallacious to take the CBO over you two.
