Selling csco now is like selling intel or microsoft 10 years ago. I've been holding csco for 5 yrs & expect to hold for 5 more, then retire comfortably on the procedes.

Yaacov

I agree with Tom

Hang in there, the price appreciation rate may be slowing down but this baby has a loooong way to go.

Short term we may be ahead of ourselves but IMHO the stock will triple over the next 5 years.

Good investing,

Eric

(I don't need the money and I simply once to invest it in Treasuy Bonds or Zero Coupons) Why not sell half your shares and be in both? Glenn

Yaacov, You asked for opinions on selling your CSCO which represents a huge return. FWII, I did the following recently because CSCO has grown to represent such a huge portion of my portfolio. I sold 1/4 of my CSCO position. I now have a nice chunk of cash. Some of which I put to good use recently (SNDK). I have enough cash left over to wait for other opportunities. One opportunity I will get into is CSCO leaps!!!! Year 2000 leaps. CSCO is still a great investment opportunity!!! Don't throw away long term growth potential in CSCO just because the growth might be "slowing" from historical rates. I'm waiting with cash-in-hand (account) to see if the seasons tax-loss selling creates any opportunity.
Good Luck!!!

Sell CSCO or hold long-term? Only reasons to do so:
CSCO is threatened by a competitor.
A future long-term downturn in the network infrastruture business.
Questionable accounting/reporting practices at CSCO.
A better place to invest the money.

I plan to hold, hold, hold.
(IMHO, of course.)
