Dear freeus :

I read your last post and there are many things in it that I could respond to in depth...however I don't want to lose your respect of me or in the high position that I hold , which is an ambassador of my Lord and Savoir Jesus Christ. So, for that reason would you allow me to respond to only one comment that you made..

Remember the story of the pharisee and the publican praying in the temple. The pharisee is on the front row and praises God by saying , Lord I am so glad that I am not like other men. sinful, prideful, arrogant ( I'm paraphrasing also ) OH, big point, he also says that he pays his tithes in full !!!

The publican is on the back row , cannot even lift up his head in the presense of GOD, and says Lord, I know I am a sinner, I don't even know if I can change my nature ( also paraphrasing ), I cheat people, I'm crooked, I lust for the things of this world, is there any way you can forgive me ????

Jesus said that the publican came away forgiven of God and justified by God---- J U S T I F I E D just as if you never done it ......like the little boy said !!!

This was from JESUS ...He is so great.. My point being this, you said that you cannot imagine the commission of the thought being as bad as the commission of the act...My point is this....it can actually be much worse if the thought separates you from the love of God..

The person who commits the act may plead for Gods mercy while the goodie -two- faced or two shoes whatever you want to call them may still think they are not like other men, those other SINFUL men that God "hates " so much..As in !st John 8-10 " For if we say that we have no sin, we deceive ourselves and the truth is not in us !-- We make him a LIAR and his word is not in us "

In truth and love , my brother in CHRIST, feel free to discuss any topic here, I promise you that you will recieve the respect and consideration that you are due as a child of God and as a joint heir................gregor

><>...Hi Freeus...><> Very interesting post about everyone geting to

heaven.

You said:

">>>They say to Aslan the lion (who is God, or Jesus) "oh I didnt realize you
were the One" and they are sorry they didnt know, but happy to be accepted into
the kingdom.">>>

How do you know this is the way it is? Are you saying that no matter what a person believes, or who/what they worship, there is a place for them in heaven? Even if they do not believe that Jesus came to suffer, die, and be resurrected for the sins of the world?

I would like to hear your views on this but I think this thread is too focused on finances, so pleas feel free to speak your mind on the thread below.

exchange2000.com

I do think you have something when you say:
">>>have been turned off by organized religious...">>>

Have a good day
Shalom...><>

Matt 7:22-23
22 Many will say to me in that day, Lord, Lord, have we not prophesied in thy name? and in thy name have cast out devils? and in thy name done many wonderful works?
23 And then will I profess unto them, I never knew you: depart from me, ye that work iniquity.

freeus,

I was struck by what you wrote:

>>Matthew 5:27. "You have heard that it was said to those of old 'you shall not committ
adultery'. But I say to you that whoever looks at a woman to lust after her has already
committed adultery with her in his heart. If your right eye causes you to sin, pluck it out
and cast it from you, for it is more profitable for you that one of your members perish
than foryour whole body to be cast into hell."
I cannot accept that the thought is the same as the act. It is most definitely not. Iknow
that part of this means simply that your mind should be on holy, and acceptable things,
not on unacceptable things, and that as much as possible your thoughts should be
monitored. However this passage completely desecrates the marvelous way some
people refuse to give in to temptation in spite of truly thinking of doing things and
wanting to do things that they know is wrong. they avoid doing the things they wanted
to and that is not the same as doing them.<<

Your post shows that you have given this some thought. Could I suggest that the predominant thing being taught here is not that

the evil thought = the evil action

rather the idea is that if there is something very dear to us which causes us to desire something evil that we need to remove that very dear thing to us for our own well-being. (An eye or a hand is not inherently evil.)

In your example the person had these thoughts and desires and struggled against them because he agreed that they were wrong. That is different than someone who knows that there is some situation or activity that he must remove himself from in order not to be drawn into a particular mode of thinking which will progress toward sin -- and that person does not.

It's not that I've sinned because the thought to do evil occured to me -- rather when the thought comes, do I nurture it and delight in it?

Hopefully as we mature we become less and less prone to such thoughts.
Jesus observation I think is simply this: All deeds are conceived internally before they are carried out. God must triumph in our hearts before we have any hope of right external results. If something is keeping God from reigning in our hearts, no matter how dear it is to us, we must remove it for our greater good -- a relationship with God.

Jesus is not saying that you would be condemned for the stray thought that crosses your mind about sin.

Dear freeus:

Just wanted to wish you a wonderful Christmas. Consider this a Christmas Card.

I pray the Lord has been blessing you, abundantly. If there is anything I can agree with you in prayer on reply or e-mail a more personal message please do so. In Christ.......gregor

You have posted a lady "Jane" before, do you remember?. She wrote this to me. We had been praying for an unexpected blessing for her.

>>>>"Oh, yes, I did get an unexpected blessing. And another financial
development is presented which could be astoundingly fruitful.
But blessing # 1 did come, and seeming by miracle, so I thank you for lifting me to the Lord for His remembrance.

It seems to perhaps be a two for one blessing, and I will tell you more about it when I know. I just don't know about blessings--I usually run from anything that looks like money based on the tendency to go ballistic over making money increase itself, and it does take you over like a strange spirit, but this one is so right up my alley it is leaving me astounded."
