I don't believe in the double-dip. I don't believe we ever emerged from the recession. How could we, with 10% national unemployment? It only points out that when corps lay people off, their numbers perk up.

We really need a citizen-centered means of measuring recessions.

Small business people are focused on the economy like a laser! Their survival depends on it. They do most of the hiring IN the total economy. If THEY think it's going down, it's going DOWN - because they aren't planning to hire anyone.

Correct. Even though it hasn't been in the cards for months. It is looking like even deflation isn't going to happen, either.

Which doesn't mean robust growth. But things are merely miserable instead of disastrous...
