IMO, the really important message from Intel's conference with the analysts is that Intel is on track to absolutely dominate the microprocessor market as far into the future as the eye can see...from Net PC's through high-end servers.

Oh yeah, and the current quarter will look pretty good also.

<<<<<< Let's see if some of the vision-impaired shorts on this thread are willing to get themselves educated.

.......good luck and bless them. i personally do not short stocks. but if i did there are sure better candidates--lots of them.

.......imho intel has competition but it is not serious. even cisco has competition but i ain't selling yet.

.......how low do you think intel will go?

......... i think that it could drift due to all the bad news into the low 70's. but this drift with the ASEAN problems will not take it below 70's assuming:
1. china and brazil do not meltdown and lose 30-50% of thier currency value.
2. japan stabilizes somewhat and does not disintegrate.
3. Q4 is flat to slightly up as they predicted.

however, if the china, japan and brazil all go into the dumpster you might as well short the whole market because there will be no place to hide--so shorting intel at that point would be moot.
