The US border is a joke. We took our family to Canada for a week this summer. Returning to the US our daughter, her husband and their 2 year old were hauled over for the full monty. Absolutely absurd. Absurd. I suspect they were a numerical necessity so when the pull over some criminal looking guy they can site my grand daughter as balance.

The whole thing is a joke based on political correctness.

One time coming home from Louisville the guy in front of me had a gym bag full of loose cash - he got waived through. The traveling business guy me - got pulled over for the full monty.

I have NO respect for the process - none!

Bob

I was lucky to have avoided arrest one time about 20 years ago when I was going back to Alaska from Missoula with my daughter. The Canadian guy asked if I had any firearms.

I said, "No, because I know you don't have the right to keep and bear arms up here." My daughter gave me the elbow, but I got away with no other trouble.

Which isn't precisely true, of course. Canada depends on US hunters bringing their rifles for big game hunting.

<<being watched by U.S. Customs.>>

I was heading home from Canada one year with my cousin from Virginia. When asked where he was from the officer said I can tell by the accent. Cousin said what the fukk is it to you. Bad crossing.
