Re: "How would a procedural act of declaring war in a manner you are suggesting have changed any of the wars?"

MASSIVELY.

Re: "Would we have won sooner? Would we have fewer soldiers killed? Would it cost less?"

Yes. Yes. And yes.

Firstly... no more creeping into ill-considered 'wars' by gradual escalation, often without fully considering the consequences and the long-term plans.

Secondly... what wars we do engage in would most likely be far more decisive and with a much higher 'win rate', as the American public would have to be brought on-board from the beginning. (Just look at WW II and all of our wars previous to it! No losses, and no endlessly escalating minor conflicts. Whenever we warred we warred *successfully* with the American public's support and a constitutional basis. Then look at the more problematic results after WW II, when we FAILED to follow the constitution and declare wars.)

Thirdly... less harm to the nation's finances. When and if we formally declare war we will gear-up to pay for the endeavors....

PS --- You haven't answered the question yet, you just came back with your own questions, which I have now answered. But my question to you still stands: I haven't heard where you stand on the issue yet, Bill... Do you think that Vietnam, Korea, Iraq, or Afghanistan should have been LEGALLY DECLARED WARS (or do you think that particular requirement of the constitution is 'outmoded' or something and should be ignored or done away with?)
