Speaking of that, It seems to me that we are flying the flag at half mast too often. Flags here are currently being flown at half mast for a Mn soldier who just died in Afghanistan. We are in a war. Soldiers are dying every day. We could fly the flag at half mast every day. But what message does that send our enemies? Maybe I'm off base with this one. I hesitate to express it for fear it will be taken as disrespectful to the unbelievable sacrifices being made by our soldiers and their families. I'll of course listen to any criticism of my thinking.
