Thing is, we do all have forebears who did nasty things. However, we don't honor them for the nasty things they did. There's no need to justify slavery or massacring native villagers or anything and we don't. Cortes, Columbus, Solomon Stoddard, etc aren't important to us. We don't have to defend their actions.

How do Muslims deal with negative things that the supposed greatest prophet of God did and said and did and said in the course of spreading and teaching his faith? I'm curious.
