I'll tell you I don't take pleasure in posting negative info about Mohammed to you .... but I don't know how to avoid what I see as true. I work with Muslims every day .... just yesterday I was at a meeting and sat next to a colleague from an African country (he does work similar to mine in another division) and noticed him wearing one of those robe things that go from the next down to the ankles - really unusual for the office here and someone asked why - oh, its Ramadan, he said. Now Mo is a great guy just like a lot of other Muslims I've worked with ..... so I know that most Muslims aren't maddog killers and fanatics .... but ... when I look into why some Muslims are today in the modern world, I see its not just a matter of being from some backwater place and being ignorant and pre-modern ... no, many of the fanatics are well-educated, have lived in the west and turn to violent fanaticism as a result of their religious studies .... studies that feature the type of material I posted earlier from Ibn Ishaq, Tabari, Bukhari (the ancient biographers of Mohammed) ... iow they are getting back to the religions roots and there they find the warrant for violence and all sorts of bad things. -------------- "Attacks on Christianity have followed a similar program of taking things that are ARE from Christian sources - ancient and supposedly holy ones! Nevertheless one can't find material on Jesus similar to the stuff Muslims have preserved about Mohammed. --------------- Re rape stats comparing the US and Qatar - Qatar is a very different society .... most of the population is male contract workers from south Asia or the Arab world ... there aren't even many women - instead of the population being 50/50 m/f its more like 20f/80m. Plus there's a lot more social freedom in America which means more women are out and about and subject to attack. Another factor is stats will only show REPORTED rapes. Theres more social stigma in the ME for victims to hide rapes. And there are reasons for that stigma - this story isn't from Qatar but the UAE isn't far away, geographically and more important culturally: arabianbusiness.com

doesn't an arab women need four male witnesses to a rape ? How often would that happen. And if she reports a rape and doesn't have the witnesses she will be charge with having sex with a strange and subject to stoning, who in their right mind would report a rape?

I’ve written about the issue of rape and Muslim immigration so many times that I am, quite frankly, a bit tired of the subject. But as we all know, problems don’t disappear just because you are tired of talking about them, so here goes. There has been an explosive increase in the number of rape charges in the city of Oslo, but both the media and the authorities consistently refuse to tell us why. They did do so, however, in 2001, when two out of Norway's three largest newspapers, Aftenposten and Dagbladet, reported that most of these rape charges involve an immigrant perp, which again mostly means Muslims. Both newspapers have since then conveniently “forgotten” about this, and have never connected the issue to Muslim immigration although the number of rape charges has continued to rise to historic levels. They are thus at best guilty of extreme incompetence, since their former articles about this issue are still available online. Norway’s Minister of Justice from 2001 to 2005, Odd Einar Dørum, mentioned the problem in 2001 but has later gone quiet about the issue. The reported number of rapes in Oslo is now six – 6! – times as high per capita as in New York City, yet the media keeps warning against Islamophobia. Its ability to care for them all is being severely tested. The number of reported rapes has skyrocketed this year. Two out of three charged with rape in Norway’s capital are immigrants with a non-western background according to a police study. The number of rape cases is also rising steadily. Unni Wikan, a professor of social anthropology at the University of Oslo, in 2001 said that “Norwegian women must take their share of responsibility for these rapes” because Muslim men found their manner of dress provocative.
