- it comes out of productivity.

Which has been outsourced to feed the multinational corporations. Or did you mean the productivity of the banks?

<<<What I am obsessed about is the deficit. ...........There is no magic bucket that the money for the social services you mention here come out of - it comes out of productivity.>>>

You are not alone in your concern for deficit spending. No one likes deficits. But not all deficits are equal. To fight for deficit spending on tax cuts for wealthy people is strange. If you want to say evil, I will be okay with that. But to go into deficit to help alleviate suffering is part of who we are. If you are religious, it is who you are.

Now if you add the component that shows compassion and generosity is a smart thing to do - as in keeping people healthy enough so they can be more productive as human beings and can contribute to a more prosperous society - there is no reason why people should be angry about that.

Unless there is something wrong with human beings, in general, the great majority of human beings are good and decent people. They just want a chance so that they could do the right thing. Human beings who take advantage of other human beings are a minority of people. Even within the superwealthy 1 or 2% of our society, there are many that are willing to pay at the very least their fair share and some willing to pay much more.

The focus and anger over people you suspect of taking advantage of others is misplaced and should not be indulged in.
