So after the next elections, the victorious party that relied on huge amounts of corporate donations is going to turn around and start raiding their plants and factories and levying huge fines on those same donors?

Why are you asking me that question Dale..? I certainly don't expect the current Republicans or Democrats to effectively enforce immigration law.

It already took place in this country in the 1950s.
(but as I said was more heavily directed against immigrants and not employers..) But yes I agree there is zero political will to enforce the law now.

Well we won't know until it is tried... but as I noted there is very little political will to enforce the law. Basically Dale I was questioning your assertion that 90% of the problem would be solved by guest worker visas. You are aware that we had a guest worker visa program in the 1960s but people like Cesar Chavez campaigned against it because they thought (probably correctly..) that it was abusive against the workers. He was also a big supporter of strong border enforcement at least until the late 70s. It's kind of hard to have a union when you have a huge supply of desperate illegal labor available.
