I've got news for you poolboy, if a guy is carrying a gun and he's not in a hunting party or at the range, pretty much ALL the unarmed people around him find that threatening!

That's why it's CONCEALED carry!

Where the problem started?

I have no opinion about if this dood was an ass or if the cops were just brain-dead, trigger happy, cowboys, but, unless the laws are different in the state where this happened, the dood SHOWED his concealed weapon. That is the root of the problem and in Michigan, that is absolutely not allowed. Showing your weapon is not too far from drawing your weapon as far as the Michigan concealed weapon law is concerned.

So, the West Point grad was an idiot that did not take proper measures to insure his weapon was concealed.

As for all the rest, I have no opinion on what happened, as we do not have the facts.

As for cops, there are some good ones, but they seem a small percentage. I've often wondered if dicks want to become cops or if becoming a cop makes you a dick. Either way, a lot of dicks in the police force. As a 17 year old, I got one suspended for his actions. He was a real dick and the city agreed with me.

I've got a ticket on my wall from 13 years ago. I keep it as a reminder of how stupid the average cop is. Long story, but that cop better hope that no doctor tells me I have a month to live <g>

I got tired of all the fences in California. I like to go into nature. Private property can take away a persons freedom and is the largest means of tying up of land. People often don't think of that.

And it takes away my freedom to roam the hills. From the Bay area it took me too long to get to the wilds.

I moved to Alaska and am surrounded by the tongass national forest. No fences anywhere and now I can go where I please, when I please. Fish, hunt and walk anywhere, anytime.

Society can give freedom and welfare, as well as take it.

Right now the corporations are running our lives. I would rather our democracy was running our lives.
